A payment link is a secure link that can be sent directly to your customers, allowing them to pay by card or Open Banking. These links can be created via the Felloh dashboard or your booking system (if integrated), and customized with preferences such as accepting Amex, adding surcharges, or setting the payment as pre-authorised.
To create a payment link, you input the booking reference, customer details, and amount into the Felloh dashboard. You can also configure preferences such as payment method (card or Open Banking), whether to accept Amex, apply surcharges, or set it as a pre-authorised payment. Once the link is shared with the customer, they can choose how they pay: • Open Banking: The customer is redirected to their banking app to complete the payment. • Card payments: The customer enters their card details and completes the payment using 3D Secure verification (via SMS code, banking app notification, or phone call from their bank), adding an extra layer of fraud protection. You can also use the payment link as a virtual terminal for taking payments over the phone.
Payment links significantly reduce fraud risk, as 3D Secure verification shifts the fraud liability to the customer’s bank
They offer a convenient and secure way for customers to make payments at their convenience, allowing businesses to collect balance payments earlier
Over-the-phone card payments are still possible for trusted customers, but using payment links offers additional security and protection
If your business still takes a lot of over the phone card payments, we really recommend introducing payment links as a secure way to protect your business from fraud risk. It's also a great way to collect balance payments earlier by sending a payment link which can be paid by the customer at a time that works for them.
